About Us

The Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TNCHAMBER) was established in 1924 with 24 members, with the objective of providing various services to the trade and industrial sectors. Celebrating its centenary in 2024, the Chamber now has over 5,500 members, more than 300 affiliated associations, and over 4,500 sub-association members, totaling more than 10,000 members. It stands as one of the leading Chambers in India, operating with excellence and distinction.

YES

Young Entrepreneur School (YES) was established in the year 2004 by the TamilNadu Chamber of Commerce & Industry with the aim of training young people to successfully navigate the challenges and pitfalls associated with entrepreneurship.

Yet another laudable achievement of the Chamber is the forum SHARP, established in the year 2008with the aim to provide required training for students in soft skills, such as effective communication, goal setting, self-assessment, creativity etc.

The Save to Be Saved Forum is an inspiring initiative established in the year 2011 by the Tamil Nadu
Chamber of Commerce and Industry dedicated to fostering a culture of conservation and sustainable

CHAAT

Chamber Arbitration Tribunal (ChaAT) with Mediation Centre, the first of its kind in South Tamilnadu was established in the year 2007.  Chamber has thus joined a handful of Chambers of Commerce in the country in establishing Alternate Dispute Resolution forum for settling commercial disputes.

Growth of Trade & Industry - Our passion

Chamber leaves no stone unturned in achieving its mission viz., “growth of trade & industry in Tamilnadu particularly, economically and industrially backward southern districts and implementation of various projects for the benefit of the general public”.

Holding conferences, workshops and seminars, conducting meetings addressed TN Chamber - highly organized, focused and produces amazing results as a team. 6 by eminent personalities on subjects relevant to Trade and Industry, making effective and timely representations to State and Central Governments to redress the grievances of Trade and Industry, motivating people to start new industries, persuading the Central and State Governments to provide necessary infrastructures for the development of Trade and Industry and also execution of various projects for the welfare of the general public, offering pin-point comments on Government Budgets, Bills and Policies, leading deputations to the dignitaries, taking delegations abroad for promoting exim trade and joint ventures, conducting Trade Fairs for the promotion of Trade & Industry, giving press releases on all important matters, issue of periodical circulars to members on matters concerning Trade and Industry and Public Interest, release of highly informative Monthly Bulletin “Vaniga Ithazh” for free distribution to members…to quote a few, are the important endeavors of the Chamber.
 

Chamber has been making sustained efforts for the creation, development and modernization infrastructure and establishment of heavy industries especially in the southern districts of Tamilnadu which lag behind other areas in the State in industrial development.
