Chamber’s assistance to government for successful implementationof Public Welfare Schemes

Chamber has been extending its unstinted co-operation and support to the State and Central Governments for successful implementation ofvarious Public Welfare Schemes. For implementation of “Vaigai River Development Scheme ” at a cost of Rs. 8 crores under “Namakku Namae” Scheme. Chamber collected and remitted a sum of Rs. 1,09,91,826/- out of the public contribution amount of Rs. 2 crores. The then President of the Chamber Thiru S. Rethinavelu was nominated as Treasurer of the scheme. Chamber was also responsible for the Cement, Roads, basket ball court etc., by raising funds to the extent of Rs. 50 lakhs, which enabled the projects to be completed at a cost of Rs. 2 crore.
